In 2023, the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) replaced Cambridge for designing and creating the IMAT. The IMAT has since seen a major shift in tone, format, and question style. In fact, the changes were so drastic that the median score increased by 19.4 points from 2023 to 2024! We have a detailed article on the new IMAT Exam changes that dives in further.
The “new IMAT” closely resembles the Italian-language medical admission test (often referred to as TOLC-MED), also written by MUR. In 2024, MUR released two official question banks with over 7000 questions that would that medicine in Italian admission exam.
Because the IMAT is now written by MUR, practicing with official questions designed by MUR is the most effective way to prepare. While only half of these questions are available online in Italian for now, we will eventually provide all 7000 questions fully translated into English, professionally proofread by medical students and doctors, with shuffled answers for realistic practice.
In the free version you can access all past IMAT and TOLC-MED exams with a timed mode and, more importantly, compare your score to other students who have attempted them on our platform. We have additionally included two mock exams (difficulty level: hard)!

We’re not just copying and pasting AI translations, every question is proofread by real medical students and doctors, so we’re currently adding around 200 new questions per day.
Once we finish uploading every single questions, we will be working on our own databank of questions in the exact same style, designed to mimic the current IMAT. We just wanted to make sure you could access the most accurate and official questions first 😉
Yes! We started by focusing on the most realistic and relevant questions for the current IMAT. Since MUR took over the design of the IMAT, there has been a major shift in tone and question style. That’s why our priority was to include questions from official MUR sources and past IMAT formats created by Cambridge.
As we grow, we’ll continue expanding our question bank, including new, original questions written by our team to match the exact style and difficulty of the current IMAT.
We’ll also be adding more features as well as explanations for each question hopefully by the end of the next year!
We personally believe that it is unlikely that the IMAT will be cancelled due to logistical reasons (i.e., the issuance of thousands of visas in the case of the alternative “open semester”. You can read more about it in this article.).
However, if this unlikely event does occur, we want to offer a fair refund policy: if the IMAT officially gets cancelled within 30 days of your purchase, we are happy to fully refund you. In certain circumstances we can also extend this to 60 days!
At the moment we offer one in-person course called The IMAT Bootcamp which is an intensive week of lectures and practice sessions held in July in Turin, Italy. Signups will reopen in Spring 2026 (as long as the IMAT isn’t cancelled!). So far, 100% of students who’ve attended and filled out a survey said they would both recommend it to a friend and take it again themselves.
We’re also working on something exciting: a fully original, non-AI-generated, plagiarism-free, and affordable online course. Our goal is to make it the BEST and cost-effective IMAT course available. We’re aiming to launch it by March 2026 so stay tuned! 😉
